Birthday / 남편 생일

C: What is your favorite cake?

M: Mmm... Fruit cake.

C: Like...?

M: You know, Korean cake with a lot of fruits.

C: Ohhh.. (There is no Korean bakery in Raleigh though..)

It was first time being together to celebrate Matt's birthday. So... I decided to make the "Fruit cake" from scratch for his birthday! The cake would be a special surprise for him, and I made cakes several times before, following my favorite Korean baking book. They were pretty good. "Let's do it!" I was excited and bold to make a surprise birthday cake for him.

When I was about to start preparing all the ingredients that I secretly bought, someone came into my house. It was Matt. He came back from work at 2:00 pm. Why did the team lead let him come home early today? Oh my goodness. My plan was ruined. I had to explained everything in order to proceed to bake the cake. He laughed at my disappointed look. Avoidably, I made him take a nap in a bedroom and started baking.

You will see the finished cake later. ;)

The birthday boy.
Now he is twenty......%$@.

"Happy Birthday!"

Our favorite food is necessary for us to be excited on such a special day.

After the sweet dinner, just two of us had a small and intimate birthday party at home. Finally, the time for "the cake".

Honestly, the cake turned out so well.
It was moist, fluffy, soft, and less sweet.
Perfect!
